Last Tuesday, Alshabab fighters in Somalia published the photos of an American drone, which crashed in Bulomarer town in Lower Shabelle regions of Somalia.

US forces in Djibouti and Seychelles use surveillance planes to monitor the Islamic militant groups Alshabab and Alqaeda in Somalia and launched arerial attacks on parts of Somalia to hunt down and kill the high ranking Alqaeda and Alshabab members in Somalia.

Alshabab claimed shutting down the drone and posted the photos on their social media accounts. The Pentagon has denied Alshabab's claims of the shot down, but confirmed that a U.S. reconnaissance drone crashed off the coast of Somalia on Monday last week.

Drone attacks are well known in Somalia and killed senior Alqaeda and Alshabab members including Saleh Ali Saleh Al Nabhani, Bilal Berjawi and Abu Uhud, who were all killed in Lower Shabelle region of Somalia in 2009 and 2012.
