Baidoa, QN - Alshabab fighters attacked midnight the resident of Baidoa Mayor Hassan Mohamed Ibrahim (Bikole) in Adada village in Baidoa, the mayor confirmed to Qalin News.

"Alshabab fighters attacked by resident overnight, the fighting was going on for 30 mins and finally they were chased" said Bikole.

"I can confirm that my staff wounded two from them, because we saw them when they were taking them, but we don't know death toll" he added.

Bikol confirmed that there is no casualty from his site and the public as well.

Alshabab claimed the responsibility of the attack but didn't confirm any casualty from their side.

The increase of Alshabab fighters attacking Baidoa and the surrounding towns increases as the split of Alshabab sparked fighting between two groups of Alshabab, which support the conflicting leaders Ahmed Abdi Godane and Mukhtar Robow Ali.

Baidoa is the head quarter of AMISOM sector 3 and hosts AU peacekeepers from Uganda and Burundi both commanded by a Burundian contingent commander.
