Barawe, QN - Reports from Barawe town of Southern Somalia claimed that Alshabab executed overnight Wednesday at least four of its senior commanders, who were arrested 20th of this month.

A resident in Barawe told Qalin News through phone that Alshabab executed overnight 4 senior commanders and are suspected to me those in conflict with the leader Ahmed Abdi Godane who is well known with his nom de guerre Abu Zubeyr.

"In Barawe the people are asking themselves 4 people who were executed last night, they were among twenty commanders arrested June 19th, and we don't know why they were executed" said the source that requested anonymity for security reasons.

"I can't confirm personally but it is highly believed that Sheikh Ibrahim Haji Jama, who was well known as Al-Afghani and Sheikh Burhan are among those executed" the source added.

The four executed commanders were arrested as militia loyal to them fought against those of Godane in Barawe a time Godane supporters executed Sudanese fighter and dragged his body in the streets.

Godane decided to tackle down all the commanders that are against his leadership and made a Fatwa calling them spies and disintegrators of the Jihad 2 days before the arrest of those who were executed last night in Barawe.

Among the commanders who are conflicting against Godane are Mukhtar Robow Ali, the deputy of Godane, Al Afghani, the number 2 of Alshabab, Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys, who escaped and was arrested in central Somalia, American Jihadist Omar Hammami, locally known as Abu Mansur Al Amriki, Sheikh Burhan and others.

The execution of Al Afghani (If confirmed), and the arrest of Sheikh Aweys by Himan and Heeb administration, as well as 16 commanders in Godane supporters' jail, it become heavy blow to Alshabab, which is getting a tough pressure from African Union Mission Forces-AMISOM and the Somalia National Army.
