    Somalia: President Hassan receives credentials from UK’s new ambassador to Mogadishu

    Mogadishu, QN - The President of Somalia Hassan Sh. Mohamud has received credentials from UK’s new ambassador to Somalia, Neil Wigan replacing the former UK ambassador to Mogadishu Matt Bough.

Mogadishu, QN - The President of Somalia Hassan Sh. Mohamud has received credentials from UK’s new ambassador to Somalia, Neil Wigan replacing the former UK ambassador to Mogadishu Matt Bough.
President Hassan commended and appreciated the UK government's role in supporting the Somali government and expected the new ambassador Neil wigon to continue the good task his predecessor was doing for the good relations of the two nations.

"Today, I am receiving the credentials from the new UK ambassador to Mogadishu, I thanks the UK government and the people, and I appreciate their impressive role in support of Somalia" said the president.


"I expect Ambassador Wigan to double the task his predecessor ambassador Bough was doing in Somalia for the good relation of the two nations" The president added.

Ambassador Wigan thanked the President for receiving his credentials and passed a message from UK Prime Minister David Cameron to the president.

Ambassador Wigan promised to work hard to make sure the Somalia government get international support and succeed to restore law and order and return the public services in Somalia.

Ambassador Wigan replaced the former UK ambassador Matt Bough who served in Somalia for the last two years and supported the Somalia peace process and the recognition of the government in the international community.

UK is the first western nation to reopen its embassy in Mogadishu after 23 years of prolonged war in Somalia and held at least two Somalia conference in London to draw the international attention to Somalia.
