    Mogadishu, QN - The Somalia ambassador to South Africa Ambassador Sayid Hassan Sharif died urgently in Pretoria, South Africa Wednesday morning after he collapsed due to heart attack.

Mogadishu, QN - The Somalia ambassador to South Africa Ambassador Sayid Hassan Sharif died urgently in Pretoria, South Africa Wednesday morning after he collapsed due to heart attack.

Somali Diplomat and the second secretary of the Somalia embassy in United Arab Emirates-UAE Mohamed Sheikh Isaak confirmed the sudden death of the ambassador to Qalin News Online.

"The ambassador died this morning very suddenly, he had blood pressure and hapetites, and he died due to heart attack" Isaak told Qalin.

"The government will plan his burrial, but what we are expecting is that his body will be taken to Somalia and will be burried home" he added.


Mohamed Sheikh Isaak called Ambassador Sayid HassanSharifas 'a role model and a courageous ambassador' who tirelessly worked on the improvement of the security situation of the Somalis refugees and businessmen in South Africa who faced racial attacks and killing from the locals.

Somali diplomats and Ambassadors send condolences to the family, relatives of the late ambassador and the people of Somalia for the sudden death of the Sayid Sharif.

The Somali Ambassador to UAE Amb. Abdukader Sheikhey Al-Hatimi, the Somali ambassador to Turkey Amb. Mohamed Murasl Sheikh Abdirahman, the Somalia ambassador to Egypt Amb. Abdulahi Hassan, the first secretary of the Somali Embassy to Egypt diplomat Ilyas Sheikh Omar and the second secretary of the Somali embassy in UAE diplomat Mohamed Sheikh Isaak, conveyed their condollences to the family, relatives and friends of the late Amb. Sayid Sharif and wished his soul to rest in paradise peacefull.

Amb. Sayid Shariif is the first Somalia ambassador to South Africa after the fall of Somalia government in 1991, and he succeeded to restore the relation between two nations and improve the safety situation of the Somali refugees in South Africa.

The Somalia government is having urgent meeting to discuss about the sudden death of the ambassador and form a commitee for his burrial.
