Mogadishu, QN - At least five people were killed and more than 10 others were wounded after heavy car bombing explosion targeted to AMISOM convoy passing the airport road in Mogadishu, officials confirmed..
The reports confirm that BBC correspondent Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimu was among those who were wounded in the attack.

Abdulahi, an eyewitness who saw when the explosion took of said, "I saw clouds of smoke raising up, and I saw at least three AMISOM Caspirs vehicles with a water tank coming out of the smoke dust"

"I can't tell you how many AMISOM soldiers affected, but they were the target, and they were passing between UN Compound and Peace Hotel" he added


AMISOM denied the killing of their soldiers, but claimed two of their soldiers submitted to field hospital with minor injuries.

"Terrorists attacked our convoy passing the airport road, they didn't kill any of our soldier, we have two soldiers with minor injuries and we are still nvestigating" said AMISOM Spokesman Col. Ali Adam Houmed.

Col. Houmed condemned the attack and insisted that attacks will not deter AMISOM from serving for its mission in Somalia
The reason of the attack is not yet clear, but Alshabab fighters is yet to claim the responsibility.
