Mogadishu, QN - Sources in Mahas district of Hiran region accused Alshabab, the Alqaeda affiliate group in Somalia of killing, kidnaping and robing nomad families in the area.
The locals confirm that Alshabab have inflicted killing the local men and robbing their domestic animals at Goobo neighborhoods as the locals refused to fight for them and contribute funds.
An anonymous source for security reasons told Radio Mogadishu, the government run radio, that Alshabab fighters killed an elderly woman, and abducted nine animal herders during their operation of taking animals by force from the owners.
The abducted nine men were the owners of the animals who resisted the Alshabab fighters to take their animals by forces, and they were taken with them animals as hostages, while their fate remains unknown.
The local Human Rights groups condemned the move and called Alshabab to release the hostages and their animals.
Alshabab is facing both internal conflict and finalcial problems as the groups gets pressure from the Somalia government forces assisted by the African Union Mission in Somalia AMISOM.
