    Politician condemns food aid looting in Baidoa

    Baidoa, QN - The president of Ganaane State of Somalia Nuur Mohamed Moalim aka Bukurow condemned the looting of a food aid intended for the vulnerable members of the internally displaced persons in Baidoa.

Baidoa, QN - The president of Ganaane State of Somalia Nuur Mohamed Moalim aka Bukurow condemned the looting of a food aid intended for the vulnerable members of the internally displaced persons in Baidoa.
Bukurow, speaking from Baidoa told Qalin that he was outraged by the looting of the food aid, which he said was intended as handout to the weak persons of the IDPs.

"The food aid ration was a donation from the Turkish Red Crescent, it was sent for those in dire need, but militia looted it without the intervention of the administration" Bukurow told Qalin.

"I strongly condemn the regional administration's involvement of the looting of the food aid, the forces looted and members of the administration were involved in the looting instead of protecting it" he added.


Bukurow urged the African Union mission forces (AMISOM) contingent in Baidoa to protect the food aid from looting and discipline the forces who were involved in the looting.

This week, the government forces in Baidoa and local militia looted several trucks of food aid and beaten the IDP members who were in lines to get the handout food aid.

Thousands of families in Baidoa are in dire situation in the holy months of Ramadan, while Alshabab blocked the of the aid workers to reach the people in need of emergence food aid.
