Mogadishu - QN - Alshabab fighters loyal to the leader of the group Sheikh Muktar Abu Zubeyr aka Ahmed Godane Thursday executed top ranking Alqaeda officials in Shongolow town in Gedo region of Southwest Somalia.
Sources in Shongolow, Diinsoor, Raamacadey and Baidoa confirmed the killing of America-born Omar Shafiq Hammami locally known as Abu Mansoor Al Amriki, a British citizen with Pakistani origin and unidentified Kenyan were among four Alqaeda members killed by loyalists of Godane early Thursday morning.

Godane supporters pretending animal herders have launched a tactical attack against the jungle, where Al-Amriki and AlBritani supporters used as hideout since the rift between the two groups started in 2012.

Residents in Shongolow, a town 70kms west of Diinsoor district of Bay region confirmed that Godane loyalists presenting the bodies of four fighters including three foreigners and a Somali body guard.

"The fighters brought four bodies here, two of them are white, two are black, one of them looks Somali" said a resident who requested anonymity for safety reasons.

"I heard them saying there is Al-Amriki among the bodies, there is a Pakistani with a long beard, but he is British national as well, they call him Usama Al-Biritani" he added.

They were killed early morning, only 8 fighters were with Al Amriki when attacked, 2 out of the 8 were captured, one of them is an Egyptian national, and the other is Somali.

The pro Al Amriki website published small statement about the death, which was written like this.

"The killer, Ahmed Godane, massacred Muhajireen (immigrants) and Ansar (hosts), who were against his awful deeds, in the suburbs of Rama'adey area of Bay region"

Al shabab didn't officially confirm the killing of its top ranking foreign officials, but the websites supporting Mukhtar Robow aka Abu Mansuur and Al Amriki confirmed the attack, which they called a criminal act fulfilled through the order of Godane.

Ten days ago Al-amriki denounced his membership of Alshabaab and Alqaeda and called himself a terrorist who is a member of a local Somalia clan, Rahanweyn, but the clan's traditional elders denied his claims of being a member of the clan.

The killing of Alabama born Al-amriki and the British national sparked anger among the Alshabab members who split into two groups that hunt one another since the leaders failed to end their rift.
