MOGADISHU, 06 Dec. 2014, (Qalin) - The newly inaugurated president of the South West Somalia Federal State Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan strongly condemned the deadly twin blasts that killed 18 people in Baidoa. Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan, speaking to the media in Mogadishu said, "I strongly condemn the awful and painful suicide attack targeted to innocent civilians in Baidoa, it shows us that the attackers and the masterminds have no heart for the people of Somalia specially those they targeted in Baidoa" "I send my heartfelt condolence to all the people who lost loved ones in the attack, I pray for the dead to rest in Paradise in peace and those injured to recover well" He added.

Sheikh Adan also urged the people of Baidoa to remain calm and work with the security forces to make sure to prevent farther insecurity actions to happen.

The deadly twin explosions targeted Baidoa Hotel and Barwaqo restaurant in the centre of the city, which the people gather to chat and hang out with friends.
This is the first such attack in Baidoa in the last 6 months, but on Wednesday last week, a car laden with explosive devices targeted a UN convoy in the vicinity of Mogadishu's Adan Adde international airport and left 6 people dead.
