The Banadiri Political Reformation Council (BPRC) hereby alerts that the current National Consultative Meeting held in Mogadishu and its outcome were non representative and exclusive to specific interest of the certain individuals
The Banadiri Political Reformation Council (BPRC) hereby alerts
that the current National Consultative Meeting held in Mogadishu and its
outcome were non representative and exclusive to specific interest of the
certain individuals in the leadership who misused the power for the specific
interest of their relative clans.
The offices of the President and the Prime Minister of the
federal government of Somalia mismanaged the nomination of the National
Consultative Council and mislead the process of the meeting in order to reach
individual goals.
"The process is an absolute exclusive for the interest of
the armed clans and their powerhouse leaders in the leadership offices, the
unarmed communities including Banadiri were left behind and were completely
ignored from the beginning of the process throughout the meeting. We see it as
a deliberate violation of our rights to attend the decisive consultations that
affect the future of the country” said BPRC chairman Dr. Lutfi Sheriff Mohamed.
"The international community supporting such process may
fall in unwillingly in situation where the outcome of the process may serve for
the violations of the human rights of the peaceful communities in Somalia that
were already marginalized in the political representation of the country” He
added.
At this critical time, while the country is in political
transition, heading expected elections in 2016, the leaders of the federal
government of Somalia are deliberately fabricating new era of civil war and
political unrest in their bid to counterfeit a process that can keep them in
the office after their term.
BPRC calls the international community, The UK, EU, US, UN,
IGAD, AU, LAS, The governments of Sweden, Norway and Finland and the troop
contributing countries of AMISOM.
1. To
pressure the leaders of the Somalia government to open their doors for the
communities declined in the process of the National Consultative Council.
2. To
make sure the processes they support to be inclusive and reflect for the
interest of the overall interest of the Nation.
3. Not
to support the processes forget to facilitate the failed leadership to remain
in the offices, which will be ‘A Great set back’ to the stabilization of the
country.
4. The Council is requesting the government to work on
the formation of Banadir state, which will comprise of the districts of
Mogadishu, and it will be the legitimate rights of Banadiri Community to
establish Banadir Region as its Federal state.
Finally,
we call the government of Somalia to respect the inclusiveness and reconcile
with the marginalized communities in order to reach realistic reconciliation in
the country.
